Transforming your face: What should be in your make-up bag (essential/beginner)

Items:

1. Foundation (find your correct shade, use your jaw line to find the right shade for you.)

2. Pressed Powder (to set foundation and concealer.)

3. Concealer (that matches your skin tone to cover any blemishes or/and two shades lighter than your skin tone to create a highlight, cover up under eye dark circles and to create dimension to your face)

4. Eye brow Pencil (optional, if you have spare eyebrows, or you can use a matte eye shadow as well)

5. Mascara (to elongate and/or create voluminousness lashes)

6. Lipstick/ Lip gloss

7. Lip pencil ( for longer lasting lipstick.)

8. Make-up Brushes ( A few brushes to help apply your make-up, or make-up sponges)

You don’t necessary need to stick to the same line to get all your products as not everything from a particular line might compliment  your skin tone. Check what’s out there and create your perfect make-up bag.

Jada Pinkett Smith

Jada Pinkett-Smith, the actress from such big hits as ‘Matrix’ Trilogy (Reloaded and Revolution), the mother to Jaden and Willow Smith and the wife Will Smith. In the image above she is at the premiere of  ‘The Karate Kid’.

Let me start off by saying I love Jada’s bone structure, its absolutely gorgeous and the way her make-up was done just eliminates her beauty even more. Her eye shadow is very natural and earthy with coppery tones by using a warm golden colour on her lids and a darker coppery brown colour in the crease really adds a slight sexy smoky look to her eyes. Her eyebrows look slightly filled in to give them more definition and fullness. All over her face looks covered with a golden bronzer/highlighter to give her a fresh, glowing  look which nicely accompanies the metallic dress that she was wearing at the premiere. Some clear lip gloss was put on her lips, and nothing else.

All in all, Jada looked great, one of my all time favourites, its just right in my book.

Rihanna Grammy’s 2013

Rihanna is an international singer and has had many hits during her career, but her fashion and the constant changing of her hairstyles are what have really kept fans locked into what she’s up too next. The image above is from the 2013 Grammy Awards.

Rihanna’s make-up in this picture is very simple, elegant and sophisticated, everything is done just right as not to over power the dress. She decided to wear a gorgeous floor length red dress and accompanied it with some red lipstick to match. When it comes to her eye make-up, its very understated, a soft brown in the crease and black eyeliner around the perimeter of her eyes, with some mascara to elongate her eyelashes. A bronzer was possibly used to contour around her face, this helps to bring back warm into her face and to give it some dimension.

All in all, I loved this look on Rihanna, she looked almost innocent, sophisticated and mature, just the right message she wanted to give out for this occasion.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has been the topic of may conversations, mainly for relationships rather than her music, but few can deny that her music is catchy and after long you’ll find yourself singing it… ‘WE ARE NEVER EVER EVER GETTING BACK…’ you see!!

In the look that Taylor’s sporting above she has opted for a Grecian hair and make-up look, very warm and inviting. Her eye shadow is  done with a copper browny colour which emphases her blue eyes along with her chose of baby blue earrings. Her eyelashes were coated with on mascara, which helped to elongate her lashes. To finish up her look she has on some bronzer to add some colour to her face, as a subtle contour around her face. Her make-up is usually quite light, not too caked on which suites her nicely and wasn’t need as she was wearing white and needed to keep the overall look quite clean and innocent.

All in all, I like this look on Taylor,  she  looks mature and womanly!

Tamika Sumpter

Tamika Sumpter has been a rising star of late in the acting world, from her time on ‘Gossip Girl’ to her latest film along side the late, great Whitney Houston in ‘Sparkle’. I see a bright future for Tamika and see her going all the way in her career.

When it comes to her hair she is usually sporting a long, streamline center part hairstyle, but in the image above she went for a curly do, which softness her look up. Her makeup in the image is very sexy but in an understated way. The eye shadow is a smoky brown, with thick black eyeliner to draw your attention to her eyes, some eyelashes were probably added to add some glamour to the look. The rest of her makeup is pretty neutral with some nude lips and possibly some gentle contouring.

All in all, I like the look, everything works well together. Look out for Tamika Sumpter on a screen near you!
